3. Outlook users

3.1 Open Outlook. Click on Tools and select Accounts

3.2 Notice that you may already have an email account. Click on Add and select Mail

3.3 Enter your first and last name then click Next

3.4 Enter your email address in the lastnamefm@slmr.com format and click Next
lastnamefm
is your lastname plus the first letters of your first & middle names.
For example: John Elaine Jones becomes jonesje
If appropriate, use the domain name given to you instead of slmr.com

3.5 Enter 216.93.161.233 for both the Incoming and Outgoing Server then click Next

3.6 Enter your user Account Name and Password. Check the box to Remember Password, then click Next.

3.7 The radio button next to Connect using LAN should already be selected. Click Next.

3.8 Click Finish. (But, you are not finished yet!)


3.9 Now select the new account and click Properties.


3.10 (If you want to change the Account Name as shown in 3.9, you may do so here.)
At the top, click on the Server tab.

3.11 Check the box next to My server requires authentication.

At the top, click on the Advanced tab

 
3.12 Incoming Mail - Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL), then click OK.

Outlook is now configured to check both your existing and new mail accounts.

3.13 Making the Connection: Click on the Send/Receive icon. You may see a pop-up window informing you that the security certificate could not be verified. This is because Outlook does not recognize the security provider used by the mail server.

Click yes to accept it. This message may come up every time you start Outlook.
